B.W. Parks, Jr. age 82, went to be with his heavenly father from The Meadows in Orange, Texas on June 13, 2008.
Visitation at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, June 16, with services at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, at First United Methodist Church in Orange.
B.W. was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma on March 11, 1926 to Vera Wall and Boyd Woodson Parks. He graduated from Chickasha High School and was a laboratory technician for 35 years for the former Jefferson Chemical – then Texaco Chemical Company in Port Neches.
B.W. enjoyed bowling, boating, fishing, and water skiing, and after retirement enjoyed traveling the U.S. in his travel trailer. But most of all, he was a family man who doted over his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Orange, Little Cypress Lions Club and former member of the Orange Boating Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Ronnie and Carl Boyd Parks.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ruby Boehme Parks; son and daughter-in-law, Boyd and Roxanne Parks; daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and Matthew Walther; three grandchildren, Mark and wife Sabrina Allbritton, Alicia and husband Bobby Mouton, and Andrew Parks; and three great-grandchildren, Blake and Allie Jo Allbritton and Kylie Mouton.
Serving as pallbearers are his grandsons, Mark Allbritton, Andrew Parks, Bobby Mouton, and nephews LeeRoy Boehme, Jr., Richard Boehme, and Terry Stark.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Memorial Hermann Baptist, Orange, Dr. William George, the staff and nurses of The Meadows, and the staff and nurses of Odyssey Heath Care for their concern and comfort to B.W. and the family.
