Carl “Dean” Selman, Jr., 62, of Orange, Texas, passed away on October 13, 2024, at Oak Grove Nursing Home.
Memorial services will be held at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Old First Orange Baptist Church in Orange.
Born in Orange, Texas, on August 29, 1962, he was the son of Ronald Paul Reese and Patsy June Reese (Garrard). He served as the Service Manager for Phillpott Auto, where he dedicated much of his career to his work. Dean was a man who lived for his grandkids, who affectionately called him “Papa” or “Pops.” He was known for always offering good advice, making a lasting impression on those who sought his wisdom. In his free time, Dean enjoyed going bass fishing and was a passionate fan of the Houston Astros and the Dallas Cowboys. He was also an avid knife collector and dealer. He leaves behind cherished memories and an unmistakable legacy of love and support to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Patsy Reese; granddaughter, Emmary “Emmy” Lou Grace Selman; and son, Ronnie Selman.
He is survived by his sons, Carl “Dean” Selman III and wife Kandace, and Dustin Selman and wife Jacy; daughters, Meagan McNamara and Morgan Grundtner and husband Gavin; grandchildren, Kammi Selman, Kooper Selman, Augustus “Gus” Clay Selman, Austin McNamara, Madison McNamara, Elena Grundtner, and Nathan Grundtner; brother, Wynn Reese and wife Christi; numerous other loving family and friends.
Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
