Carol Chance was born on June 21, 1933, in Beaumont, Texas. She passed away on August 2, 2015, at Calder Woods in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 6, 2015, at Claybar Funeral Home in Beaumont. Officiating will be Chris Moody. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Beaumont
Visitation will be from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM, Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at Claybar Funeral Home in Beaumont.
She was the daughter of Daniel Vickery and Lucile Henderson Vickery. Carol graduated from Beaumont High School and was a member of First Baptist Church in Beaumont. Family was a very important part of Carol’s life, she was a fantastic cook and everything was surrounded by a great meal. After her children had grown she went to work at Westbrook, she started as a teacher’s aide and eventually ended up as registrar. She worked at Westbrook for over 20 years. Carol also loved to travel.
She is preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Chance and her sister, Billie.
Carol is survived by her children, Caren Stewart and husband, Jimmy of San Antonio, David Chance and wife, Pam of Lumberton, John Chance and wife, Pam of Austin, and Ranell Brooks and husband, Bill of Beaumont; grandchildren, Allison Bowen and husband, Shawn of San Antonio, Emily Stewart of Austin, Melissa Stewart of San Antonio, Justin Wayne Chance of Austin, Cody Matthew Chance and wife, Haley of Houston, Travis Chance and Blake Chance of Austin and Bailey Brooks of Beaumont; and her great-grandchildren, Colton and Chance Bowen.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons.
