Carol Sue Thompson, 76, of Deweyville, Texas, died April1st, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 4th, at First Baptist Church of Deweyville under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Reverend Damon Bickham and Reverend Chase Bowers will be officiating. Burial will follow at Deweyville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:00-9:00 p.m. Thursday, at the Church.

Carol was born on January 9, 1938 in Many, Louisiana. She was the daughter of Emmitt Evander Hippler and Vera (Pilcher) Hippler. She took great joy in serving as a member of the First Baptist Church of Deweyville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Thompson. Carol is survived by her son, Gregory John Thompson of Deweyville; granddaughter, Hunter Breann Thompson of Evadale, granddaughter Nicole Brown of Beaumont, Texas, and her nephew Chase Bowers and his wife Laura, of Temple, Texas.

She is also survived by her brother, Emmitt Hippler and his wife Bonnie, of Magnolia, TX; sisters Barbara Lambeth and her husband Don, of Alvin, TX, and Faye Bowers of Pensacola, FL; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Charles and Bobbie Thompson of Laurel, MS, Jack and Glema Thompson of Shreveport, LA, Roy and Flora Thompson of Bossier, LA, Gene and Beverly Thompson of Deweyville, and Pasty and Bill Whitmire of Vidor; and a host of other nieces and nephews.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Richard Innes, Dylan Innes, Dalton Estes, Tabor Ebner, Joey Greer, and Brady Williams.
