Charlene Liza Braneff, 59, of Starks, Louisiana, and formerly of Devil’s Pocket, Texas, died Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Brother Reginald Brandenburg. Burial will follow at Laurel Sudduth Bluff Cemetery in Deweyville.

Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00-10:00 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home.

Born in Kirbyville, Texas, on July 25, 1955, Charlene was the daughter of Simon Burrell and Emma Mae (Murphy) Williams. Charlene worked as an LVN with home health. She had a beautiful singing voice and loved to sing in church. She loved being with her friends and family, especially her seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Deidre “DeeDee” Bean; parents; brothers, Paul Williams, Donnie Williams, and L.C. Williams; and former husband, Albert “Bear” Braneff.

Charlene is survived by her daughter, Lisa Verdine and husband Bryan; son, Jerry Bass II and wife Mandy; grandchildren, Daygon Bean, Caleb Bass, Graycie Bean, Trent Verdine, Brianna Verdine, Jacob Bass, and Carli Verdine; brother, Buddy Williams and wife Lil’ Debbie; sisters, Cardelia Smith and husband Nick, Ethel Cooper and husband Gary; and sisters-in-law, Marie Williams (wife of Paul), Pamela Williams (wife of Donnie), and Sue Williams (wife of L.C.).
