Charles Arceneaux

August 31, 1946 — October 19, 2024

Orange, Texas

Charles Arceneaux was known by Charlie to all who knew him. Charlie was a believer in Christ and a lifelong Orange, Texas resident who passed away on October 19, 2024, at his home.

A visitation in honor of Charlie will be held on October 23, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at Claybar Funeral Home Orange and interment at Peveto Cemetery.

Born on August 31, 1946, in Orange, Texas to Cleveland and Lydia Arceneaux. Charlie dedicated his life to his family and friends. Charlie was known for his exceptional skills as a mechanic and farmer. He was greatly admired by his coworkers and friends. Charlie worked hard to provide for his family and was always available to help anyone when asked. He had a deep love for drag racing, street cars, and simply cutting up. In his younger years he often was in trouble for street racing which kept him in trouble with his Mom. Charlie is well known for his joking manner and his near rib breaking hugs. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching sports. Many weekends were spent on the river as a tradition for him and his family when not away at soccer games.

After retirement, family became all that more important to Charlie. He was married to his wife Kathy for fifty-one years. Charlie was a loving father and had tremendous pride in his son, Rodney Arceneaux, and his daughter, LeAnn Holloway. He embraced the role of grandfather with joy. His grandchildren—Adilynn, Hudson, and Pierson Holloway—were especially dear to him. His greatest joy was cheering on his granddaughter and playing with all his grandchildren. Charlie’s legacy will continue through them as he imparted love and laughter to each of them.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Arceneaux; son, Rodney Arceneaux; daughter, LeAnn Holloway and her husband, Brandon; and his three cherished grandchildren, Adilynn, Hudson, and Pierson Holloway. He is also remembered by his best friend and brother, Joseph Alex Arceneaux and his wife, Linda.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland and Lydia Arceneaux, his brother Rodney Arceneaux, and his sister Jeanie Frazier.

Charlie Arceneaux’s life was filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to his family and friends. His spirit and memories will live on in the hearts of all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
