Charles Cleveland Carr, 81, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on October 12, 2018, at The Oaks Nursing Home in Beaumont, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont.
Born in Beaumont, Texas, on January 31, 1937, he was the son of Sereal Carr and Corrine Jackson Carr. Charles graduated from Southpark High School and received and Associate Degree in Industrial Electricity and Electronics from Lamar University. He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He went on to work for IBM as a repair technician for over 25 years. After his retirement from IBM Charles continued to work as a repair technician for Star Graphics. Charles enjoyed fishing, roller skating, motorcycles, boats, antique cars, camping, photography, and being at the beach. He was a family man who loved his family members very dearly. Charles will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sereal and Corrine Carr; his brother-in-law, Bobby Comer; and his special extended family member, Robert Todd Calaway.
He is survived by his daughters, Dana Carr Buchanan and husband Kevin of Bridge City, and Dina Carr of Long Beach, California; his grandchildren, Kevin Lee Buchanan II and wife Victoria, Ashley Nicole Buchanan, and Dylan Matthew Buchanan; his great-grandchildren, Kameron and Ethan; his sister, Joe Ann Comer of Beaumont; his niece and nephew, Linda Sory and husband Kevin, and Richard Lynn Comer and wife Shari; his great-nieces and nephews, Lisa, Angela, John, James, Justin and Christi; numerous great-great-nieces and nephews; and his special extended family members, Rodney Eugene Calaway, wife Roni and children Jami and Jeff; Jodd Allen Calaway and wife, Angie, and Todd Calaway's children, Jazmin, Jeremiah, and Jade; Patricia Greene, Jackie Doolittle, Debi, Ed, Ayva, and Emma Garcia, and Alex and Matt Perdue; Carol and Gary Buchanan.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Buchanan, Kevin Buchanan II, John Comer, Lynn Comer, and Dylan Buchanan. Honorary pallbearers are Kevin Sory and Justin Sory.
