Charles E. Spradling

Charles E Spradling, 80, died October 12, 2008, at the Senior Rehab in Port Arthur, TX. Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 20, 2008 at the Claybar Funeral Home temporarily at 1408 Park Ave at the Park Ave Methodist Church building. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. before the service. Burial will follow at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.

Charles was born on January 27, 1928, in Greenville, TX to Charles Richard and Ila Mae Crable Spradling. He was a retired parts manager for Sprad's Boat Town and served in the U.S. Army. He was the youngest president of the Eagles Club at age 19, in 1947, and is still an honorary member. He also was a member of the VFW Post 2775 in Orange and one of the original members of the Junior Chamber of Commerce.

Preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Spradling is survived by his brothers Admiral David Spradling of Scottsdale, AZ; Orville Spradling of Midland, TX; and Hubert "Sprad" Spradling of Orange, TX and sisters Mildred Werner of Almagorda, NM. and Nancy Mae Lease of Almagorda, NM.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Willis and the current members of the Eagles Lodge.
