Charles Willis Ireland, Jr. was born Dec. 9, 1925 in Houston, TX to Charles and Amanda Ireland. Charles was the youngest of 8 children. Charles graduated from San Jacinto High School in Houston. He met his wife, Mary, while they were both working at JC Penny in downtown Houston. They were married on April 11, 1948 and lived in Houston until 1969 when they moved to Beaumont. In 1972 they moved to Silsbee enjoying the country life until they moved back to Beaumont in 1992. In 1998 they moved to Marble Falls and enjoyed the hill country life. Charles also loved helping at Camp Peniel. They returned to Beaumont in 2009.
Charles left this earth on July 26, 2017, ten months after his wife Mary. He is survived by his son C. Michael Ireland and his wife, Linda, of Beaumont, TX; daughters Pamela Lynn Cone and husband, Terry, of Columbus, GA, Danna Kay Tuttle and husband Terry, Elizabeth Ann “Libby” Sladaritz and husband, Tom, of Beaumont, TX; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, July 28, 2017 at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston. A memorial service honoring his life will be held on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Westgate Memorial Baptist Church in Beaumont.
