Charles J. Arceneaux, 79, of Orange, died Saturday, August 8, 2009, in Orange.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Orange with Reverend Tom Phelan officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Groves.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday with a vigil recited at 6:00 p.m. at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Charles was born January 21, 1930, in Port Arthur, Texas. He was the son of Arthur Joseph Arceneaux and Ella Wiltz Arceneaux. Charles worked for Texaco for 33 years. He was a member of the O.C.A.W. Union where he served as a Stewart, a representative to Texas Democrat Convention, Knights of Columbus and on the Foundation Board of Southeast Texas Hospice.
Charles was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Arceneaux; and sister, Barbara LaBauve.
Charles is survived by his wife, Kathy Arceneaux of Orange; sons, Brian Arceneaux and his wife Maureen of Conroe, Mark Arceneaux of Groves; daughters, Sheila Countryman and her husband Bob of Houston, Maureen Rice and her husband Gerald of Colorado Springs, Colorado; step-daughters, Grace Boles and her husband Terry of Temple, Texas, Karen Haynes and her husband Boyd of Round Rock, Texas; six grandchildren; three step grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Clayton Arceneaux; and sisters, Rosalind Rivoire and Letrice Page.
