Charles Ray Leggett

Charles Ray Leggett, 65, of Orange, passed away on October 12, 2014, at St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 17, 2014, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.

Visitation will be from 11:00-1:00 p.m. on Friday at Claybar Funeral Home.

Born in Orange, Texas, on June 5, 1949, he was the son of Ray D. Leggett and Wenona (Davis) Leggett. Charles grew up in the Cove and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a tank mechanic in Germany. He retired as a mechanic from Bridge City Radiator and was a member of Cove Baptist Church. Charles was a member of the Orange County Remote Control Club where he enjoyed spending his time but mostly he enjoyed being with his family and friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Wenona Leggett. He is survived by his brother, Joe Leggett and wife, Wanda of Cut N Shoot; Linda Leger and her extended family, and niece and nephews, Miranda Drummond, Marion Marasciullo, Daniel Leggett, and William Leggett.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sabine County Empty Stocking Program; P.O. Box 1552 Hemphill, TX 75948.
