Charles Lawrence Manley, Sr., 91, died in his home in Beaumont, TX on Saturday, March 5th. “Larry” Manley, son of Samuel and Lillian Manley, is preceded in death by his wife, Kittie. He is survived by his four children: Chuck, Laurel, Clay and Patrick, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Larry was a World War II Navy diver who created his own scuba gear, an Aerospace Engineer for Boeing working on the Gemini and Apollo Missions, a tavern owner in Bellingham, WA, and then an owner of a Kwik-Kopy printing franchise here in Beaumont before he finally retired. He was a charter member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church, President and Founding Member of SERTOMA in Beaumont and a die-hard Cowboy fan. He enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking and working with his hands building furniture and bird houses. His favorite pastime was pranking his close friends; you know who you are. His upbeat personality and life stories kept us all amazed and entertained. He will be sorely missed.
We love you Daddy.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church in Beaumont, Texas.
