Charles “CE” Edward Patton, Jr., 82, of Vidor passed away peacefully at his home on December 27, 2016. A celebration of his life will be on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Claybar Kelley Watkins Chapel. Interment will be on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at 12:30p.m. at the US National Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will be on Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 4-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Charles served in the US Navy during the Korean War and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, China Service, Korean Service, United Nations Service, and Good Conduct Medal. He was known to many as the “Candy Man”. Charles never met a stranger and could talk you into doing anything. Those that knew and loved him will never forget him and cherish his memory always.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Patton, Sr. and Beaulah Patton; his brother, Larkin Patton; his sister, Ossie Watson; his daughter, Janet Leblanc and his grandson, Cody Patton.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Christine Patton; son, Daniel A. Patton; daughters, Kathy Goins and husband, Paul and Paula Patton. He is also survived by his grandchildren, P.J. Goins and wife, Lyndsi, James Duke, Erica LeBlanc and four great-grandchildren, all of Vidor.
