Charles “Red” Ted Leggett

Charles “Red” Ted Leggett, 66, of Orange Texas passed from this life on December 8, 2024 and is now dancing with heavenly angels. Red was born September 06,1958 in Biloxi, Mississippi, the middle of 11 children. He was devoted to his loving wife Stephanie of 38 years and their family of 14; Adam and Samantha Leggett and children Jackson, Karsyn, Brayton, Corbin, Eva Cate; Zachary and Tayler Leggett and children Ansley and Miller; Link and Katherine Millard and children Clancy and Effie and many family members and friends that will forever cherish his fun-loving memory.

He loved being “Pop” to his grandchildren. He brought lots of laughter to their lives. He was hilariously funny and fun – he loved his life and he shared his joy with everyone. He loved to entertain his people and was always the life of the party. There wasn’t a dance floor that Red did not light on fire nor did he miss a good table to dance on. There was no celebration that he did not add his unique form of joy and entertainment. He was seriously happy. Serious about his commitment and dedication to his family and friends, and happy to devote his time to everyone in his circle of life.

Ted had a servant’s heart and was a true giver. He was the first one there when he heard you needed help. Full of compassion, he would stop in and check on anyone on his heart to be certain their needs were being met – and if they weren’t, he would take the time to do so. He could fix anything from engines to the tiniest trinket and did so with detail and care. He enjoyed doing everything he set his mind to. And he never passed up a good bologna and mayo foldover.

Red was completely genuine. You always knew where you stood with Red. He was one of those people that would light up your day when you saw him. He danced to his own drumbeat and was always into something. He was a loyal friend, and his presence on this earth will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the exuberant life of Red beginning with a 10:30 AM Saturday, December 14, 2024, Catholic Mass at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church followed immediately after with a Celebration of Life in the San Damiano Center, 4300 Meeks Drive, Orange Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Be Blessed of Orange Texas, please donate to the link below. Be Blessed provides weekend meals for hungry school age children in Orange County and was near and dear to Red’s heart. Rain or shine, he was eager to deliver meals and to provide help wherever it was needed.
