Charles Russell "Chick" Hebert, 85, of Orange died Monday, February 18, 2008.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 22, 2008, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Reverend Jeff Bell of Cove Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Chick was born September 3, 1922, in Morse, LA, to Philip Schuyler and Edna Genevieve Bergeron Hebert. He was raised in Jennings, LA, spent most of his adult life in Orange. He proudly served his country during WWII in the US Navy from 1941-1947. He achieved the rank of Aviation Radioman 3rd class and flew with the blimp squadron.
He retired from Dupont in 1980 after over 30 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Helen Ruth Bradley Hebert; sisters and brother, Claude Lee McKague, Doris Marie Hebert, Edna Guidry, and Philip Schuyler Hebert Jr. and sister in law Betty Bradley.
He is survived by daughter, Sue Ellen Hammons and husband Don of Houston, sons, Randy Hebert of Orange and Guy Hebert and his life partner Mike of Ocean View, HI; grandchildren, Amber and Andy Herrin and Lacy Hammons; great grandchildren Bryce, Autumn and Chloe Herrin; brothers in law, Wayne Bradley and wife Bernadine and Glenn Bradley.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Vidor Manor for their loving care during his illness. We would also like to thank our friends and family for their prayers and visits.
