Cheryl Elizabeth Posey, 71, passed away on May 20, 2019, at Beaumont Healthcare in Beaumont, Texas.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday May 28th, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Tom Posey. Burial will follow at The Cemetery in Mauriceville.
Visitation will be prior to the service, beginning at 9 a.m., Tuesday May 28th, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born on April 10, 1948 to June Craft, Cheryl grew to be a strong and precious woman with a beautiful heart. She was self-reliant and taught herself anything she wanted to learn. Cheryl was laid back and loved making holiday candy, cooking, baking, and would often put her own inventive twists on classic recipes. She enjoyed her time working at Kroger’s for 15 years as a bakery and deli clerk and had fun at the casino and shopping in her downtime. Cheryl will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by parents; her husband, Wylie DeWayne Posey; son, Robbie Posey; sisters, Joy Wissenger and Judy Kilgore; and sister-in-law, Mary Lou Gravelle.
She is survived by sons, Wayne Posey of Vidor and Henry Posey Beaumont of Lumberton; grandchildren, Kirsti, Shayla, Nakoda, April, Nikki, Courtney, Henry Jr., Heather and Katie: her 5 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Eamlie Posey Landry of Orange and Lillian Mouton Wagner of Hemphill; brothers-in-law, Thomas Posey of Orange and Willie Posey of Port Arthur; best friends, Flo and Tommy; numerous nieces and nephews; and caregiver and friend, Ronda Hodges of Vidor.
