Chet was born in Jennings, Louisiana on July 3, 1945, to Weday Navarre and Patricia Norsworthy.
He was a proud father of 5 daughters and cherished family time and gatherings. He was passionate about his career as a Firefighter for over 40 years and developed many lifelong friendships. Close behind his love for his family were his pets. Each one of them stole his heart. Anyone who knew Chet, knows that he was a big fan of the Texas Longhorns. He always knew how many days it was until the first game of the season. He rooted for them but was deeply critical at the same time! His hobbies included woodworking and gardening. He always had some type of project in the works. Chet loved to travel with his wife, especially relaxing on a cruise or exploring in their RV.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Hiram Norsworthy; sister, Ruth Withrow; daughters, Laurie Navarre and Carla Bryan.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Terry Navarre of Santa Fe, Texas; his daughters, Lisa Leigh Broussard and husband Jon of Beaumont, Regina Lynn Murillo of Orange, Patricia Denise Navarre of Orange; grandchildren, Joseph Bryan and wife Michelle, Jared Bryan and wife Crystal, Hayden F. Parker, Jordan L. Haynes and husband Eric, Lucas D. Broussard, Kayla Bercian, Jenny Landry, Brittany Villanueva, Michael Murillo, Emily Werkheiser, Allison Nesbitt, Natalie Nesbitt; numerous great-grandchildren, his siblings, Deesie Green and husband Troy, and Randy Lane.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Joseph Bryan, Jared Bryan, Luke Broussard, Michael Murillo, Hayden Parker, and Emily Werkheiser.
