Born in Nederland, Texas, on August 24, 1994, she was the daughter of Leslie Carol Odom. Cheyenne embraced life with a fiery spirit even at a young age, her determination and fierce personality led to her being known as a “spitfire,” a title that she proudly wore. Growing up she enjoyed spending the summer with her Mamaw and Papaw riding and taking care of horses. She enjoyed learning to cook, bake and clean from her grandmother “Dorothy”, being coached by her pawpaw Ray, “Raymond” in softball. She enjoyed doing dance recitals with her sister and childhood friend Christina. Throughout her teenage years her fiery spirit and determination kept everyone on their toes, especially her friends and family. She was a 2012 Westbrook graduate. Throughout her career she held many titles including sales, customer services and office manager. She loved her mother dearly and their relationship grew even closer once she became a mother as well. Their daily conversations on the phone were a high point to her day. Cheyenne met the love of her life and future husband, “Lance” in September of 2013 and gained her favorite title “mom” in 2015. Her children held the most special place in her heart. Cheyenne always had something fun planned to do with her children from family vacations to floating the river, trips to the parks, movie nights, to shopping and manicures. She was an avid “sports mom” and was her children’s biggest cheerleader at every game and even practices. She not only nurtured her own kids, but also extended her love and support as a softball coach to many young athletes. She enjoyed watching the kids grow and learn and cheering them on. When she wasn’t running kids to school activities, games, practices, or adventures, Cheyenne took great pride in her home and could often be found creating warm and cheery spaces for her family. She loved decorating for all the different holidays but by far her favorites were Halloween and Christmas. Cheyenne enjoyed simple nights at home preparing delicious meals and sitting around conversing with friends and family or laying around watching movies with her family. She especially enjoyed game nights with friends that usually ended up with her and her best friends, Shelby, Brittany, and her sister, laughing until they cried. Once you got them going there was no stopping it, sometimes it would last for 30 or more minutes, and the littlest of things could set them off again. Cheyenne found solace and community at Common Ground Community Church, where her unwavering faith was an anchor even in the most difficult time in her life. Her love for God, love for others and her willingness to serve shown throughout her life. She enjoyed serving in her church, volunteering for VBS and for the Children’s Ministry. Cheyenne will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
