Chiya Kato Staley, 85, of Orange, Texas, passed away on March 3, 2017, at her home surrounded by loved ones.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 5, 2017, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Deacon Melvin Payne. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Chiya was born in Japan on November 30, 1931. She loved her family and having company over. Chiya was a beautiful seamstress, an amazing cook, and loved to dance. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Forest Staley; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeannie McDaniels and husband David; grandsons, Damon McDaniels and wife Carrie and Dustin McDaniels; and her great-grandchildren, Piper, Stella, and Rose McDaniels.
Serving as pallbearers will be Damon McDaniels, Dustin McDaniels, Ronnie Slaughter, Josh Gallien, Marc Howeth, and Rufus Garcia.
