Christine Lowrey, 90, of Orange, died Monday, January 25, 2010, at Baptist Hermann Hospital.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 28, 2010, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Andrew Pate of First Christian Church of Orange. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, at Claybar's Funeral Home.
Born in Arcadia, Louisiana on January 7, 1920, she was a resident of Orange since 1947. She was a long time member of the First Christian Church of Orange.
Chris operated a beauty shop for many years on 27th Street in Orange. She was known for her great cooking and beautiful crocheted handiwork.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen C. Lowrey.
Chris is survived by her daughter Donna Gail Lowrey Garrett and son-in-law, Jimmy Garrett, of Valencia, California; her son Bill Lowrey and daughter-in-law Becky Lowrey, of the Woodlands, Texas; and her sister Nadine Williams of Orange, Texas.
She is also survived by her four grandchildren Katie West of Bakersfield, California, Bradley Garrett of Bakersfield, California, Kelly Atwood of Plano, Texas, and Christopher Lowrey of the Woodlands. She has three great grandchildren, Emily and Kylie West of Bakersfield and Drazik Atwood of Plano.
