Christopher “Pop Chris” Evan Goodwin
Christopher Evan Goodwin, 56, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on September 17, 2018, in Bridge City.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 22, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City, Texas. Officiating will be Father Steve Leger, of St. Henry Catholic Church in Bridge City. Cremation is under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home.

Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on July 19, 1962, he was the son of Jerry Bonvillian and Frances Mae Ahysen Bonvillian. Christopher worked as the General Maintenance Technician for Walmart. He was an accomplished martial artist and Harley enthusiast. Christopher was a dedicated family man, Jarlene’s hero, and an amazing father. He loved his family dearly and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Frances Bonvillian.

Christopher is survived by his loving wife, Jarlene Goodwin; children, Samantha Courtney, of Bridge City, Jacob Norman and wife Ashley, of Bridge City, SSG Justin Norman and wife Cheyenne, of New York, SFC Christopher Courtney and wife Tammy, of Hawaii, Bobbie Jo Authment and husband Damon, of Houma, LA, Christopher Goodwin, Jr. and wife Amie, of Panama City, FL, and Whitney Taylor, of Florida; numerous grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; siblings, Bobbie Phillips, Timothy Goodwin, Stephanie Brantley, and Stafford Goodwin, all of New Orleans, LA; and his aunt, Lisa Ahysen, of New Orleans.
