Obituary
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Freddy Burden, pastor of First Baptist Church of Baden and Reverend Herb Thompson, pastor of First Baptist Church of West Orange. Burial will follow at King Cemetery in Hartburg, Texas.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Ron Hulin, Vincent Lieb, Brett Moses, Donald Ray Webb, Jeramy Webb and Leon Webb, Jr.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
Born in Hartburg, Texas on March 8, 1923, Claude was the son of Claude Webb, Sr. and Luanna (Brown) Webb and was the youngest of six children. He was in the U.S. Navy; after being discharged, he was employed by the Orange Naval Station until it shut down.
Claude was dedicated wherever he served. He served at Hartburg Baptist Church for many years. Claude presently was a licensed minister and deacon of First Baptist Church of West Orange. In 1992, he was awarded a plaque for serving 12 years as Sunday School Superintendent and perfect attendance for seven years and nine months. He was over the van ministry for many years. He was a music director for many years and church treasurer. He also worked with boy scouts.
Preceded in death by his sisters, Homie Webb and Elrita Hulin; and brothers, Rufus P. Webb, Leon Webb and Conrad Webb.
Claude is survived by his daughter, Linda Cloud McClelland of Kirbyville; son, Claude E. Webb of Deweyville; three grandchildren, Donna Lynn Cloud, Amy Beth Moses and Jeramy Edward Webb; and three great-grandchildren, Layden Webb, Cannon Moses and Macy Moses.
