Claude Wesley White, Sr.

Claude Wesley White, Sr., 91, of Orange, Texas died Sunday, August 15, 2010, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Leroy White of Old First Orange Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange.

Visitation will be from 5:00-10:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.

Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on September 20, 1918, Claude was the son of Richard Dick White and Ollie Elizabeth Robinson. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a Military Policeman. In 1983, Claude retired from Operating Engineers Local 450 as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He was a member of McDonald Memorial Baptist Church and one of the original founders of West Orange Volunteer Fire Department where he served as the Assistant Fire Chief.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Martha Almeda White; daughter, Emma Mae White; sisters, Buelah and Ruby; brothers, Richard and Leonard; great great-granddaughter, Destiny E. Armstrong; and infant grandson, Walter Hagan, Jr.

Claude is survived by his daughter, Barbara Elizabeth Coward of Falcon Heights; and sons, Claude Wesley White, Jr. of Slidell, Louisiana and Roy Daniel White of Mercedes.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Richard White, John White, Patrick White, Shon White, Melisa White Trosclair, Daniel Hagan, Pamela Hagan Clymer, Martha Hagan Small, Steven Hagan; 24 great-grandchildren; and 7 great great-grandchildren.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Shon White, Richard White, John White, Patrick White, Daniel Hagan and Charles English.
