Claudia Rose Hasty

Claudia Rose Hastings Hasty, 89, of Orange, Texas, passed away on September 24, 2024, at her home. 

 

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. 

 

Visitation will begin prior to the service at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

 

Born in Valdosta, Georgia, on March 10, 1935, she was the daughter of Erroll Hastings and Edith (Wisenbaker) Barber. Earlier in her life, Claudia worked at Southern Bell in Valdosta, GA. She was a dedicated homemaker and a wonderful cook, known for her delicious southern cooking that brought joy to everyone around her. Every Friday you could find her at the beauty shop, making it a priority above all else. If she had to choose between a doctor’s appointment and her beloved beauty session, the beauty shop would always win. Claudia will be remembered fondly for her kindness, her dedication to being a stay-at-home mom for her kids, her talents in the kitchen, her love of reading and her commitment to keeping up her hair and nails with a weekly visit to the beauty shop. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Erroll Hastings and Edith Barber; husband, Jim Hasty; infant brother, Thomas; and daughter, Sherry.

 

She is survived by her children, Scott Hasty, Ben Hasty and wife Teresa, Sam Hasty, and Hope Payne and husband Artie; grandchildren, Michael and wife LoriElle, Amanda and husband Dustin, Emily and husband Ray, Damon, Cori, Robert and wife Brittany, Dustin and wife Tracy, Brittany and husband Kade, Cody and wife Hanna, and Taylor Rose; 20 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; as well as other loving family and friends. 

 

The family requests that instead of sending flowers to the service, please send flowers to a loved one or make a donation in Claudia’s name to the American Cancer Society at https://donate.cancer.org/, or a charity of your choice. 

 

Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
