Cleta "Mom" Ashcraft
Cleta Marie Bailey Ashcraft, 90, of Orange, died Monday, May 4, 2009, at The Meadows in Orange.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange, with her son, the Reverend Lynn Ashcraft, officiating.
The family will receive friends from noon until service time on Tuesday.
A graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Waco.
The family will receive friends at the cemetery beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Born in Abbott, Texas on July 12, 1918, Mrs. Ashcraft was the daughter of Jim Robert and Ada Kirkland Bailey.
She was a former long time resident of Waco where she was a homemaker and also worked as a cashier at Hillcrest Hospital, retiring after seven years of service.
In 1993, she moved to Orange to be near her children and became a member of North Orange Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by her husband, Alvy Lloyd Ashcraft, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Reverend and Mrs. Lynn Ashcraft; granddaughter, Lynae Sanford and her husband, Dr. Jerry Sanford; great grandchildren, Dyllon Sanford and Rebecca Sanford, all of Orange; sister and brother-in-law, Allene and Don Lummus of Waco; brother-in-law, J.B. Caldwell of Mockesville, North Carolina; three nieces and two nephews.
The family wishes to acknowledge, with grateful appreciation, the staff of The Meadows and Odyssey Hospice for the love and care given to Mrs. Ashcraft.
