Clifford Monroe "C.M." Marshall, Jr., 83, of Orange, died Thursday, September 2, 2010, at Orange Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 5, 2010, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Randy Branch and Reverend J. B. Prouse of Wesley United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange.
Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.
Born in Forest Hill, Louisiana on September 14, 1926, C.M. was the son of Katie Katherine Willis and Clifford Monroe Marshall. He served in the US Army and in the Philippines for 2 years. He retired from DuPont in 1985 after 34 years of service. C.M. was a volunteer with Orange Literary GOALS program, Orange Christian Services, and Meals on Wheels. He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church.
C.M. is survived by his wife of 29 years, Jean M. Marshall; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Fletcher Cockrell of Hot Springs Village, AK; step-daughter, Sarah Peddy of Orange; grandchildren, Lane Dickey and husband Chaplin Chris Dickey, Brian Colby, Robin Schaffer, and William B. Peddy, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Joel Dickey, Hanna Dickey, Blake Colby, Trevor and Lindsey Schaffer; and brother, John Marshall and wife Mildred.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lung Association or Wesley United Methodist Church.
