Connie "Bit" Cox

Connie “Bit” Cox, 70, of Orange, Texas, passed away on March 13, 2017, in Beaumont, Texas.

A memorial gathering will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.

Born in Beaumont, Texas, on December 30, 1946, she was the daughter of James Bennett and Mary Jo Lista. Connie enjoyed working as a retail manager at M&S Grocery, gardening, sewing, crocheting, and playing penny slots. Her greatest joys in life were visiting with her friends and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Jo and Pete Lista and James Bennett; and her grandchildren, Austin Gandy and Candice Yellott.

She is survived by her children, Rhonda Waguespack, of Orangefield and Stacy Ebner and husband Kyle, of Beaumont; grandson, Isaiah Bennett; and her siblings, Linda Matts and husband Floyd, of Port Neches, Pete Lista and wife Lori, of Orangefield, Mike Bennett and wife Peggy, of Pasadena, Bob Bennett, of Pasadena, and Jimmy Bennett, of Orangefield.

In lieu of bringing food to the family homes, anyone who wishes to do so may bring it to the funeral home for everyone to enjoy at the memorial gathering.
