Curtis “Shorty” Fowler, 73, of Orange, Texas, passed away on December 2, 2023, at his home in Orange. With his wife by his side!!
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Pastor Keith Pennington.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Hardin, Texas, on November 15, 1950, he was the son of Raymond Fowler and Larene Walters Fowler. Curtis loved music and could often be found playing his guitar and singing. Gospel music was his favorite. He also enjoyed watching movies, especially old westerns. Curtis adored his dog, Poodoo. He also loved food, his favorite being fried pork chops. Curtis was a big jokester and loved to make others laugh. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Larene Fowler; and his brother, Gary Lynn Fowler.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa Fowler; his children, Paula Fowler of Kirbyville, Texas, Stacey Parish of Buna, Texas, and Tracy Parish of Amarillo, Texas; his grandchild, Richard Bishop of Kountze, Texas; and his brothers, Raymond Fowler of Silsbee, Texas, and Robert Lee Fowler and wife, Brenda of Saratoga, Texas.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Amy Cambell of Accent Care Hospice for her exceptional love and care of Curtis.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Granger and Doug Anderson.
Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

To Sis. Melissa and Family, I am truly sorry to learn of the passing of Bro. Shorty. I just seen the obituary on KOGT when looking for another obituary for a friend. My thoughts and prayers are for you all and I know that God has sent his comforting angels unto you and we also have a Blessed Assurance that we will see him along with all our family and friends one day.
