Curtis "Paw Paw" Nezat, 88, of Orange, died Saturday, February 13, 2010, at Baptist Orange Hospital.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Officiating will be Reverend Joseph P. Daleo. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00-9:00 p.m., Monday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Curtis was born on June 7, 1921, in Arnaudville, Louisiana. He was the son of Matilda Herbert Nezat and Freddie Nezat, Sr. Curtis served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. After thirty years of work he retired from American Bridge.
Curtis is preceded in death by his parents, Freddie and Matilda Nezat, Sr.; and daughter, Gail Hazelwood.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Nezat; daughter, LaJuan Navarre; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Stanwood Nezat; and sister; Elsie Mae Callier.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bryon Herman, Drew Herman, Bill Herman, Carlton Murillo, Joseph Bryan, and Jared Bryan.
Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Michael Murillo.
