Cynthia Sadler Ballard, 84, of Orange, passed away on April 30, 2022, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Jason Ballard. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Cynthia was born in Mount Selman, Texas on June 20, 1937, to Orom and Pauline Sadler. She was a long time faithful member of Ninth and Elm Church of Christ. Cynthia taught Sunday school and always showed love to her brothers and sisters in Christ. She was known most for the amazing pies she made. Cynthia was usually taking care and loving any child that came her way. She was known as Granny or Nanny by her grandchildren, and she loved her family dearly. Cynthia was always excited to see her extended family of her cousins, aunts, and uncles. She was so loved by everyone that knew her and she will be truly missed by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, James Ballard; parents, Orom and Pauline Sadler; brother, Don Sadler; sister, Martha Sadler; granddaughter, Katherine Goodyear.
She is survived by her children, Charlotte Ballard of Tomball, Doug Ballard and wife Tammy of Austin, Christi Goodyear and husband Ronald, Dr. Scott Ballard and wife Anette both of Bridge City; grandchildren, Jason Ballard and wife Jenny, Amy Gaither and husband Matt, Chelsea Legate and Phillip Stone, Christopher Goodyear and wife Amber, Todd Goodyear, Ellen Hartnauer, Jacob Ballard, Lindsay Ballard; great-grandchildren, Titus, Eden, Apollo, Artemis Ballard, Ransom, Jonas and Adeline Gaither, Kinley and Sadie Legate, Jace Stone, Emilee Hartnauer, Charlie and Isabelle Goodyear; siblings, Mike Sadler and wife Barbara of Orange, and Charlotte Singleton of Groves; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
The family would like to thank her loving Ninth and Elm Church of Christ family for their visits and many kindnesses.
