Dan E. Lawrence, 70 of Beaumont passed away May 23, 2009 at Harbor Hospice of Beaumont. He was born May 1, 1939 in Liberty, Texas to Daniel Boone and Elvena Watson Lawrence.
Dan served his country in the United SStates Marines Corps. He retired after 30 years from Clark/Gideon Distributing Company as a beer salesman. He was also an Insurance Agent and enjoyed his co-workers at Academy Sports and Outdoors in his retirement years.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Chapel. Officiating will be Jerry Fenter of Christ Covenant Church. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A gathering of friends and family will be Monday, May 25, 2009 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
His survivors include his wife, Linda Woodward Lawrence and daughters, Kary Fontaine and Valery Puntes and husband, Clay all of Silsbee. Also surviving him are grandchildren, Jason Fontaine and wife, Rennie, Allen Fontaine and wife, Crystal, Shelby Lee Puntes, Sidney Danielle Puntes; great grandchildren, Greg Lundvick and Will Fontaine; brother, Alton Wiggins, Sr.; sister, Cora Roberts and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, F. A. Wiggins and B. R. Lawrence and sister, Relda Murphy Cheek.
