Daniel Ott Errickson, Sr., 81, of Orange, Texas, passed away on January 29, 2020, in Beaumont, Texas.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 8, 2020, at Grace Lutheran Church in Orange, Texas, with Pastor Thomas Haas officiating. Cremation is under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Salem County, New Jersey, on January 13, 1939, he was the son of Edward Samuel Errickson and Lucy Shumann Errickson. Daniel proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He went on to work as a glass technician for many years before retiring from Wheaton Glass. Daniel enjoyed spending his spare time outdoors doing handyman work, gardening, and fishing. He also loved cooking for his family and friends, dancing, crossword puzzles, and anything to do with gambling. He was an avid traveler and hit almost all 50 states except for Alaska. Daniel was a very devoted man who was a wonderful caretaker for Joni. He loved his family dearly and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Lucy Errickson; his wife, Brenda Joan Cole; and his daughter, Elizabeth Ann Errickson.
Daniel is survived by his sweetheart, Joni Hebert; children, Daniel Errickson, Jr. and wife Nancy, of New Jersey, Charlene Errickson, of New Jersey, and Desire’e Bender and husband Eugene, of New Jersey; special daughters, Kimberly Ledom, of Vidor and Michelle McPherson, of Bridge City; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; siblings, Janet Mason, Gail Haberman, Mary Cotterall, Judy Rosenfeld, Donna Jones, Bryan Errickson, Gary Errickson, Earle Errickson, Kenny Errickson, David Errickson, Alan Errickson, Richard Errickson, Karl Errickson, Timothy Errickson, and Jeff Errickson; numerous nieces and nephews; special nephew, William Travis, of Kirbyville; along with numerous other loving family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, Mesothelioma Research, the Orange County Animal Shelter, or to Harbor Hospice.
