Daniel Fred Ognoskie

Daniel Fred Ognoskie, Sr., 81, of Orange, died Saturday, May 31, 2008, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Groves. Officiating will be Reverend Richard Turner.
Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5:00-9:00 p.m., Monday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Daniel was born on July 20, 1926, in Beasley, TX and has lived in Orange for 55 years. He was the son of Albert Fred and Minnie Gindorf Ognoskie. He worked as a machinist for AmeriPol Synpol for thirty and a half years. He was a member of the U.S. Army during WW II and he was a life member of VFW Post 2775. He was an honorary member of Local 1792 and past President for 9 years. Daniel was also a life member of Sabine Area Labor Council, District 31 of IAM, American Bridge Retirees Group, and a member and officer of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Groves.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Minnie Ognoskie; sisters, Lenora Voight, Elda Boehnemann, and Minne Mae Cacciotti; and brothers, Delmus Ognoskie, Albert Lee Ognoskie, and Lester Ognoskie.
Survivors include his wife, Lorene Ognoskie of Orange; sons, Reverend Daniel Fred Ognoskie, Jr. and wife Judy of Dwight, IL, John A. Ognoskie, Paul R. Ognoskie both of Orange; daughter, Dorothy Ann Restelle and husband Donald of LaPorte, TX; and brother, Larry Ognoskie and wife Norma Lee of Needville, TX.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Michelle Ognoskie, Dana Restelle Miracle, and Katie Ognoskie; step-grandson, Anthony Reeves, three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers are Robert Payne, Dieter Schultz, Martin Warnasch, Michael Dogget, John Hall, Michael Cacciotti, and Joey Cacciotti.
Honorary pallbearers are Leroy Warnasch, Marlene Warnasch, Anthony Reeves, Charles DuBois, Michelle Ognoskie, Katie Ognoskie, Dana Restelle Miracle, and Gene Edgerly.
