Daniel Coleman Aaron, 69, of Hemphill, Texas, passed away at his home on Monday, February 27, 2012. Danny had been a lifelong resident of Orange, Texas. He was born on April 7, 1942, to Amos C. Aaron and Ouida McCoy Aaron in DeBerry, Texas, and he served as a Buck Sgt. in the United States Marine Corp. Danny retired from Temple Inland after 35 years of service and he attended St. Michael's Catholic Church.
Danny was a volunteer fireman for the 6 Mile Fire Department and a Certified First Responder. His favorite sports were baseball and fishing. Danny was preceded in death by his parents; brother, J.R. Aaron; sister, Lucy Deming; brother, Roy "Moose" Aaron; sister, Rosemary Slaton; sister, Sandra Thornton.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Carol; his children, Daniel P. Danny Aaron and wife Barbara, of San Antonio; Brandy Cardenas and husband Arthur of Nederland; Lee Coleman Cole Aaron and wife Megan, of Houston; Troy Waddell and wife, Janice, and Kyle Waddell and wife, Katrina, both of Mauriceville; sister, Peggy Hudson and husband, Forrest of Orange; brother, Howard Aaron and wife, Deb of Orange; brother Larry Aaron of Deweyville.
Danny is also survived by his grandchildren, Nicholas Smith, Shane Waddell, Ryan Waddell, Seth Aaron, Libby Hudspeth, Zachry Taylor, Ashley Aaron and Dylan White and numerous nieces and nephews, including niece and great-niece Shelly Babin and her daughter Mia, who lived with him. He was deeply loved and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He always had a special place in his heart for children and for anyone in need.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2012, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Father Joseph P. Daleo, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Yellowpine Cemetery in Hemphill, Texas.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Eddie Hudson, Glen Thibodeaux, Arthur Cardenas, Larry Stringer, Randy Reinhardt and Steve Thornton. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary Glende, Charlie Farris, Mike Benoit and Jimmy McKee.
