Darrell Wayne Pollard, 65, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on June 6, 2019, at his home.
A memorial gathering will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, June 15, 2019, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Born in Metropolis, Illinois, on May 6, 1954, he was the son of Burton Pollard, Jr. and Billie Frances Rushing Pollard. He was married to the love of his life, Deborah, for 39 years. Darrell proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He later worked as a foreman for Bechtel Corporation for many years. Darrell was a die-hard Washington Redskins fan. He loved fishing, camping, being at the beach, and listening to music while sitting on the porch. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Darrell will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Deborah Pollard; his father, Burton Pollard, Jr.; his sister, Betty Jean Pollard; and his brother, David Pollard.
He is survived by his mother, Billie Jean Rushing Pollard; his children, Jennifer Pollard, Jamie Lorenzo and husband Pedro, and Tiffany Reyes and husband Luis, all of Orange; his grandchildren, Cassidy Havens, Autumn Frost, KK Lorenzo, Kate Reyes, Lindsey Havens, Diego Reyes, Stormi Lorenzo and Gaven Reyes; his great-grandchildren, Adalynn Dodge and Aiden Dodge; his siblings, Lou Sturman of Harrisburg, Illinois, Del Pollard of Marion, Illinois, Dwight Pollard of Marion, Illinois, Dawn Fleming and Bob of Marion, Illinois, and Darlene Turner of Punta Gorda, Florida; and many numerous nieces and nephews.
