David Burns Journeay, 77, of Orange, died Sunday, May 4, 2008.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Claybar Funeral Home with the Reverend Barry Bradley, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Born in Orange on January 11, 1931, Mr. Journeay was the son of Dave Journeay, Jr. and Emma Lena Burns Journeay.
He was a mechanic with Smith-Corona and Brewington Typewriter Co. in Houston and he was a member of First Baptist Church in Orange.
Mr. Journeay loved to fix things and could repair anything. He also was a talented organist and keyboardist.
Preceded in death by his father, Dave Journeay, Jr. and his wife, Mary Jo McKinny Hopkins Journeay, he is survived by his mother, Emma Lena Journeay of Missouri City; daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and David Arivett of Round Rock, Janet and David Darr of Garland; sister, Nancy Gay Harkrider of Missouri City; granddaughters, Emily Watson and her husband, Joel, Lauren Michelle Darr; and great granddaughter, Lily Grace Watson.
Pallbearers will be Wes Journeay, James Journeay, David Arivett, David Darr, Joel Watson and Scott Harkrider. Honorary pallbearer will be Denton Markwalter.
