David Clay Dickerson, 54, of Orange, passed away on September 20, 2019, at home.

On January 6, 1965 our family was blessed to welcome into the world beloved son and brother David Clay Dickerson, “Dude”. He was the son of John Garland Dickerson and Bonnie Jean (Stakes) Dickerson. It is with deep sorrow we announce that he passed away on September 20, 2019.

Those who knew David even for just a little while lost a shining light in their lives. David was a sweet and loving person and will be missed every day by his parents Bonnie and John Dickerson, brother, Mike Dickerson, sister, Danya Monceaux and husband Faron, niece, Jean Dickerson, nephew, Clay Dickerson, great niece, Katelyn Dickerson, and family friend, Cliff Moore.

We have faith and rejoice that David is in heaven with a sound mind and body living his best life, healed from his lifelong mental illness.

We find comfort that David has his grandmothers in heaven, Mary Lou Stakes Robbins and Jesse R. Dickerson.

Private family funeral services will be under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home.
