David Silva, 82, of Orange, Texas, passed away on December 16, 2017, at his home.
Born in Manhattan, Kansas, on February 15, 1935, he was the son of Emmett Silva and Josephine (Escobor) Silva. David worked at Sprad’s Boat Town for 37 years and loved to fish and go hunting. He was a member of the VFW as well as the American Legion. David loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren and take them fishing. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Josephine Silva; and his son, Jason Silva.
David is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Jennifer Silva; children, Jean Gilland and husband Richard, Anne Farrell and husband Joey, Ronald Stites, and Kelly Stites and wife Helena, all of Orange; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Walden Silva and wife Louise, of Council Grove, KS, Ray Silva, of Manhattan, KS, Frank Silva, of Alma, KS, Carmen Amaro, of Manhattan, KS, and Emma Thompson and husband Roger, of NY.
Cremation is under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home.
