Davis Kirkwood Jones, 84, of Orange, died Thursday, August 25, 2011, at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas.
Friends are invited to join the family for a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2011, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City. The Reverend Forrest Wood, pastor of First Baptist Church in Orangefield, will officiate. Services are under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
There will be no visitation.
Born in Hope, Arkansas on August 21, 1927, Mr. Jones was the son of C.B. Jones and Lynda Lambeth Jones. He began his career with DuPont Sabine River Works in 1954. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and member of First Baptist Church in Orangefield.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gloria Jones of Orange; daughter, Kay Fitzgerald of Kingwood; daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Louis Head, Sr. of Katy; grandchildren, Jonathan Fitzgerald, Heather Fitzgerald, Louis Head, Jr., Scarlett Head; and great grandchildren, Lindsey Fitzgerald and Luna Fitzgerald.
