August 13, 1930 — June 23, 2010

Dean Grant, 79, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend passed into the loving arms of his Lord on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 27th, 2010 at First United Methodist Church Sanctuary. Officiating will be Reverend Tom Stephenson of First United Methodist Church. A celebration of his life will follow immediately after in the Praise Center.

Dean was born in Beaumont, TX on August 13, 1930. He was the son of Faye Richard Grant and Iris Elise Barton Grant. He moved to Orange after marrying Joyce Evelyn Bass and became a longtime resident. He retired from DuPont SRW after 42 years of service. Dean was a child of God and a faithful servant of the Lord. He was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Orange. He was a faithful member of the Southeast Texas Emmaus Community. He served The American Red Cross for over 30 years as a board member and past chairman. He also served on the board of the Malloy Foundation.

He was preceded in death by his parents Faye Richard Grant and Iris Elise Barton Grant, his sister Jean Elise Wheeler, and his loving wife of 55 years, Joyce Evelyn Grant.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Penny Grant of Tyler, John and Jan Grant of Austin, and Steve and Donna Grant of Orange; two grandsons, Cory Grant, Connor Grant; six granddaughters, Annette Marcantel, Kim Moorhead, Kelly Shelton, Kelsey Grant, Hannah Murphy, and Gillian Grant; one great-grandson Alex Marcantel and one great-granddaughter Addison Marcantel.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church or to the American Red Cross.
