Debra “Gail” Adams, 66, of Orange, Texas, passed away on December 13, 2024, in Beaumont.
Born in Norfolk, Virginia, on August 2, 1958, she was the daughter of Mac McMackins and Melva Oliver. In the words of her husband: Gail was a strawberry blonde, lightly freckled beauty that captured my heart for forty years. My wife, friend, partner, nurse, accountant, advisor, chef, personal shopper, and guide to becoming a better person. She was giving and unselfish. A constant worker, attentive to family and friends and Peanut. She enjoyed red fishing with me and spinning the slots at Delta Downs. She specially loved her grandchildren, Jessica and Tyler, attending and providing baseball, soccer, school activities, shopping, and instruction that filled her heart. She suffered with rheumatoid and osteoarthritis her last 10 years and was finally, suddenly overcome by cancer.
Her passing leaves a heart breaking vacancy we will try to fill by living up to her expectations.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mac and Melva McMackins; and her siblings, Preston Harris and Vallerie Broussard.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 25 years, Bill Adams; her daughters, Heather Allen, and Sarah Adams and husband, Craig Jackson; her son, Samuel Bowman Adams; her grandchildren, Jessica Allen, Jake Bell and wife, Mackenzie, and Tyler Allen; her great-grandchild, Halsey Rae Bell; her brother, Melvin Harris; her brother-in-law, Richard Adams and wife, Rhonda; her sisters-in-law, Joan Smith and husband, Don Bellanger, Ann Moon and husband, Larry, and Amy Simmons and husband, Art; and numerous other loving nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
