Dennis Merle Peco, 77, passed away from Parkinson’s disease on August 24, 2021, at his home in Mauriceville, Texas.
Born on July 21, 1944, in Orange, Texas, he graduated from Mauriceville High School. Denny was a proud United States Arm veteran who served in the Vietnam War. He then earned degrees from Stephen F. Austin State University, McNeese State University, and Lamar University. Denny was a Behavior Intervention Specialist in special education at West Orange Stark, Deweyville, Mauriceville, Little Cypress, and Vidor. He ended his career in education as an assistant principal at Vidor High School.
Denny was a good and Godly man who loved his country, church, and family. He was a devoted husband, father, and beloved “Pawpaw”. He was married to Ellen Bazemore Peco for 54 years. Denny was kind, clever, and witty. He enjoyed antiquing at Round Top and Canton, as well as painting and writing. Denny entertained us all with his keen sense of humor and captivated us with his wonderful stories. He will forever be loved, missed and remembered.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Louie Preston Peco and Loretta Janies Peco and his son, Dennis Scott Peco.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen Peco; and his sons, Casey Peco and wife Nicole of Mauriceville, and Guy Peco and wife Monica of Mauriceville; six grandchildren, Kyndal Peco, Grace Peco, Reagan Alson, Reid Peco, Cody Peco and Louie Peco.
A graveside service and interment will be held at 9:00 a.m., Monday, August 30, 2021, at Bland Cemetery in Orange.
