Dennis Anthony “Ratman” Prouse, 76, of Vidor, passed away on November 3, 2017, in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Father Paul Sumler. Burial will follow at Del Rose Cemetery in Vidor.
Visitation will begin at 7:00 p.m., and a Rosary will follow at 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Crowley, Louisiana, on August 10, 1941, he was the son of Paul Prouse and Enola (Blanchard) Prouse. Dennis “Ratman” worked as a maintenance mechanic at Chevron. He really enjoyed coaching Little League baseball and football and coached for many years. He enjoyed to hunt, fish, and drive too fast. He also was very fond of boating and solving crossword puzzles. He adored his family, especially his grandbabies. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by parents; brother, Nicholas Prouse; and sister, Shirley Adams.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kitty Ann Prouse; children, Debbie Taylor, Johnny Thunstrom, Brian Prouse, Chad Prouse and wife, Carrie, Tiffini Prouse, and Brandon Prouse and wife, Michelle; grandchildren, Dillon Portie, Jayde St. George, Kyle Kelley, Madison Kelley, Kacey Dyson, Tyler Taylor, Terry Taylor, Sadie Prouse, Sophia Prouse, Blaine Huff, Hannah Huff, Maggie Prouse, Chloe Huff, and Emma Prouse; numerous great-grandchildren; siblings, Charles Prouse and wife, Nancy, and Wanda Pike and husband, Dale; sister-in-law, Barbara Hogan and husband, Mac; brother-in-law, Norris Adams; and many nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Billy Taylor, Blaine Huff, Jacob Hall, Kevin Saunders, Troy Johnson, and Brett Roddy. Honorary pallbearers are Bruce Hendricks, Sam Hays, Richard Womack, Chuck Saunders, Raymond Saunders, Robert Saunders, Shorty Simmons, and Billy Taylor.
