Dianne “Ruth” Rider Keen, 71, of Orange, Texas, passed away on November 6, 2019, in Houston, Texas.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Michael Procella of First Baptist Church of West Orange. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in Orange.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 11, 2019 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Mamou, Louisiana, on October 30, 1948, she was the daughter of Alfred Rider and Florence (Guillory) Rider. Ruth was a member of First Baptist Church of West Orange, and was strong in her faith. She was a kind-hearted woman who was a friend to everyone she met. Ruth always made the people around her feel special. She enjoyed garage sale shopping with her mom and going to the beach, and was also an excellent cook. Ruth’s family meant everything to her. She raised two fine young men on her own and adored her grandbabies. Ruth will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Florence Rider; her husbands, Gilbert O. Keen and Glen Naylor; and her brothers, Michael Wayne Rider and Leroy Rider.
She is survived by her sons, Robbie Rider and wife Amanda of Orangefield, and Kevin Keen of Mauriceville; her grandchildren, Kinlee Rider and Kutler Rider; and her siblings, Beverly Delahoussaye and husband Randall of Bridge City, Linda Willis and husband Alex of DeRidder, Louisiana, Elizabeth Martin of West Orange, Theresa Smith and husband Bill of Sargeant, Randy Rider of Orange, David Rider and wife Leslie of Little Cypress, and Larry Rider of Orange.
Serving as pallbearers will be William Smith, Richard Smith, Phillip Willis, Brett Delahoussaye, Clint Delahoussaye, Tim Thompson, and Patrick Tramel. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Rider, Randy Rider, and David Rider.
