Don “Don Don” Nation
Don went to be with his heavenly Father on January 30, 2021, due to COVID.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Virgetta Nation; and his four brothers, J.W., Roy, Lowell, and Travis.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Becky Nation; two sons, Allen Nation and wife Ronda of Orange, Michael Nation and wife Joy of Groves; five grandchildren, Chris Williams, Gabrielle Nation, Kamren Nation, Zachary Nation, Keaten Nation; sister-in-law, Janie Petry and Randy; brother-in-law, Chuck Long and Godsons, Joshua and Jordan Bell; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Don was born on February 3, 1944. He was always involved with his son’s sports and coached many young men who still called him coach. He was a pipefitter Local 195. In later years it enabled him and Becky to travel to great places. He loved to travel. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and the St. Francis Knights of Columbus. Don loved the outdoors, hunting, and fishing and sharing that love with his sons, grandson & granddaughter Gabbi who was the apple of his eye.
He will be missed by so many because he brought laughter and mischief wherever he went. He never met a stranger.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Adaptive Sports for Kids at adaptivesportsforkids.org.

Don and I worked as ushers for a long time at St. Francis. He was always willing to help. I had planned on being there at the visitation but with all the cold weather stuff going on I forgot. So sorry I missed it. Your family is my prayers.
