Don Skiles, 74, of Orange, died Saturday, July 12, 2008 at his home.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at First Baptist Church Orange. Reverend Barry Bradley will be officiating.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Don was born on November 27, 1933 in Elizabeth, LA. He was the son of Wilbern and Nellie Rougeou Skiles. He retired as a paper maker from Inland Orange after 45 years. Don was proud to serve his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Don was a deacon at First Baptist Church and a member of the Prime Timers Choir. He was an avid golfer. He loved his family, church, and the Lord and was very proud of all his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbern and Nellie Skiles, and brother, Dwaine Skiles.
Survivors include hiswife, Dot Skiles of Orange; children, Angela Hallford and husband James of Arlington and Laura McMickle and husband Stewart of The Woodlands, Donald Skiles and wife Catina of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Drew and Jessica Hallford, Bradley and Taylor McMickle, and Alyssa and Justin Skiles; and brother, Keith Skiles of Tallahassee, FL.
Serving as pallbearers will be Charlie Phillips, Don Ball, Mark Ferrell, John Martin, Weldon Townsend and Ben Culpepper. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of the First Baptist Church.
