Donald “Don” Davis, Sr., 63, of Lumberton passed away on March 2, 2016, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be 10:00a.m., Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Claybar Funeral Home in Beaumont. Officiating will be Reverend James Pound of Abundant Life of Beaumont. A graveside service will be 3:00p.m., Saturday March 5, 2016 at Mitchell Cemetery in Anacoco, Louisiana.
Visitation will be from 5:00p.m.-8:00p.m., Friday, March 4, 2016, at Claybar Funeral Home in Beaumont.
Born in Many, Louisiana, on June 6, 1952, he was the son of Leonard Ray and Syble Rebecca (Thaxton) Davis. Don retired as a Brakeman for Kansas City Southern Railroad after 23 years. He went on to work as a Truck Driver for Enterprise Transportation in Beaumont. He loved fishing, traveling, and camping, but what he enjoyed most of all was spending time with his family. Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Syble Davis and his son-in-law, Steven Hall.
Don is survived by his wife, Nan Davis of Lumberton; children, Donald Davis, Jr. and wife, Lacy Ann of Lumberton, Rebecca Hall of Beaumont, and Melissa Martinez and husband, David of Lumberton; grandchildren, Lauren Ashley Davis, Nan Hailey Davis, Julie Ann Davis, Donald Ray Davis, Skyler Martinez, Clarissa Deloach, Anthony Deloach and Yasmine Deloach. He is also survived by his sibling, Danny Ray Davis of Vidor, Virginia “Ginger” Chambers of Beaumont and Pamela Ann Galindo of Beaumont; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
