Donald Wayne "Donnie" Swearingen, Jr., 54, of Bridge City, passed away June 8, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Thursday, June 11, 2009, at Community Church in Orange, Texas with Reverend David Burkheimer officiating.
Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.
Visitation will be between 6:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Donnie was born on August 28, 1954, in Oklahoma City. He was the son of Donald Wayne Swearingen, Sr. and Dolores David Swearingen. Donnie was a member of Community Church. He was also a master carpenter and loved working with wood. He loved arts and crafts and always wore his cowboy hat.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Wayne Swearingen, Sr.; and grandmother, Dixie Wells.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Thelma Messer Swearingen of Bridge City; mother, Dolores Berry of Lufkin; daughters, Denisha Swearingen Bell of Orange, Olivia Swearingen of Orange, Shaunda Kaye Shaver of Boston, MA, Bonnie Peacock of Alto and Chelsea Dawn Swearingen of Mauriceville; step-children, Shae White of Colorado City, TX, Austin Williams of Orange, Travis Williams of Bridge City and Samantha Williams of Orange; eleven grandchildren; sisters, Kennetha Thomas and her husband Ben of Spring, Lavonia Moore and her husband Richard of Plantersville and Marcie Bridges and her husband Leon of Lufkin; and brothers, Tommy Seilhan and his wife Sandy of Willis and Roger Dale Seilhan of Bastrop.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Leon Bridges, Ben Thomas, Lee Bridges, Austin Williams, Travis Williams and Jeremy Messer.
