Dora Jannise, 83, of China, Texas, passed away on December 14, 2019.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 20, 2019, at Claybar Kelley-Watkins in Beaumont. Burial will follow at China Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 19, 2019, at Claybar Kelley-Watkins in Beaumont.
Born in Newton, Kansas, on August 11, 1936, she was the daughter of Jack Hood and Rose (Kountze) Hood. Dora had a passion for nurturing others, caring for her mother and working as a Home Health Provider, sitting with elderly ladies. She had a strong Christian belief and was a faithful supporter of the Christian Broadcasting Network. Dora was also a hairdresser and owned her own salon: Dora’s Beauty Shop. She was a wonderful cook and a generous person – always willing and eager to help those in need. Those who were impacted by Dora’s life will deeply miss her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Rose Hood; husband, Nalton Jannise; and son, Sidney Jannise.
She is survived by her sons, Nalton Jannise, Jr. & wife Jennie of Glenn Heights, Texas, and Nathan Jannise & wife Jennifer of China; daughters, Doreen LaCombe & husband Darius of Vidor, and Regina Robinson & husband Matt of China; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
