Doris Lucille Harrison, 75, of Orange, passed away on March 17, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

A visitation and gathering of Doris’s friends and family will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 21, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Hemphill, Texas, on April 19, 1947, she was the daughter of Luther Huff and Nora (Smith) Huff. Doris was an animal lover and adored her dogs more than anything. Her family was the most important thing in her life and she loved spending time with her many grandchildren. Doris left a lasting impact on many lives and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Nora Huff; and siblings, Bernice, Virgil, Alma, Mamie, Joel, Elbert, ReEmmaline, Oscar, Lonette, Elton, and Norman.

She is survived by her loving husband, James Mitchell; children, Tammie Clements and husband Larry of South Carolina, Tonya Manuel of Orange, Mylissa Engman and husband Brian of China, Billie James and wife Traci of Orange, and Kathy McClanahan and husband Kelly of Indiana; 17 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
